Rob's Songs In Progress Free MP3 #13: "Wide Open" Podcast

Welcome to the next installment of my free demo download series.  Today I'm sending you an older tune that has never been properly recorded or released.   It's called "Wide Open".   I think I wrote this a few years ago thinking I would pitch it to another artist to cover.   It feels like that kind of song - sort of a classic pop song that could appeal to a wide audience; not necesarily a Rob Meany song, or a Terramara song.  See what you think and send me your comments.   Share it with your friends.   And thanks for taking the time to listen.

I really like this song! The music is indeed pop-ish, but that suits my tastes fine; I like the chord progressions and mix of instrumentation, and you have a great voice for solo, Rob. But one reason I'll keep coming back to this song is that it reminds me of what a treasure it is to have a relationship in which one's heart can be wide open -- where I can just be me, and be accepted, respected, loved, and valued. But even more important than HAVING such a relationship is BEING such a relator. This song reminds me to try to be that for others. :) And by the way, call me weird and look at me funny, but my opinion is that these SIP recordings are plenty good enough to enjoy and listen to over and over again -- I don't need studio engineering and mixing to the nth degree, when the artist doing the home recording has a great sense of music as you do.
